BIS CRS — Compulsory Registration Scheme
Issued / governed by: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), for products notified by MeitY
What it is
A mandatory registration for notified electronics and IT products. Before these products can be sold, imported or supplied in India they must be tested against the applicable Indian Standard at a BIS-recognised lab and registered with BIS. Registered products carry the Standard Mark with the registration (R-) number.

Manufacturers of notified electronic & IT goods
Foreign manufacturers (through an Authorised Indian Representative)
Brand owners selling notified products — e.g. adapters, LED products, power banks, CCTV equipment
